NEWS- Terrible! Ghastly motor accident kills many, others injured

An accident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, June 22, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, when a fuel tanker fell, thereby causing gridlock – At least 13 notable ghastly motor accidents, were reported to have occurred in 2016 alone – It was a sad tale when a bus accident killed five people, while others sustained various degrees of injuries along an area called Gada Biyu village, along Abuja-Lokoja expressway Daily Trust learnt that at least five people died in the ghastly motor accident, when an 18-seater commercial bus ran into an oncoming truck close to Yaba junction at Gada Biyu village, located along the Abuja-Lokoja highway in the late hours of Tuesday, June 21. READ ALSO: Auto crashes kill 35, injure 175 in Anambra – Traffic report It was also gathered that nine occupants in the bus sustained various degrees of injuries, after they were saved by officials of the Abaji unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), who later took them to the hospital in that area.
Scene of an accident A person who was at the scene of the incident stated that the bus was coming from the Lokoja end of the road and was possibly driving on top speed, prior to ramming into the unmarked truck from behind. Information has it that both the injured victims and corpses were taken to Abaji General Hospital, Kogi state, where the injured victims were being attended to. The body of the five who died in the accident were deposited at the hospital’s mortuary. The Abaji unit commander of the FRSC, Mr Lawrence Nwabueze Akah, confirmed the incident, stating that five corpses were deposited at Abaji General Hospital’s morgue. Akah added that four among the nine people who sustained injuries were taken to St. Peter’s Catholic Hospital, while the rest were receiving treatment at Abaji General Hospital.
